This is part of a series that attempts to capture the fragility of all existence. Here we are, the human race, living it up, chilling, netflixing, chugging champagne on wafer-thin ice, just one virus, one degree celsius, one red button, one hasty ‘reply all’ away from total disaster. But then, life, since the Cambrian, has always chosen to dance on a razor’s edge at 11.59 pm in a bar at the end of the universe. And the awareness that we’re all just smelly molecules in a quickly dissipating fart from a dying star should only be liberating.
